Update: authorities have confirmed that two deaths were the result of today's plane crash.

At about 11:45 a.m. a plane crashed at Merrill Field Airport, with one person believed to be in the plane at the time of the incident. The Anchorage police and fire departments are on scene and are working to stop the blaze that is spewing black smoke into the sky.   Full Story
